“I’m on the Senate floor today to celebrate a bipartisan agreement to secure pensions and healthcare for tens of thousands of coal miners, their widows, and their families. My bill, the Bipartisan American Miners Act, has been included in the final funding package that will keep the government open beyond December 20th. We did our job, and I want to give my sincere thanks to all of my colleagues for putting partisan politics aside and for rising above the divineness and tribalism in order to keep the promise we made in 1946.”
