Elaine Harris
Elaine Harris is a District Representative for Communications Workers of America (CWA) in Charleston, West Virginia. She has been an associate member of the UMWA for more than 10 years and has demonstrated her love and support for the union many times over.
“Elaine and I have been friends for many years and have worked, fought and stood side by side together on critical issues during our careers. We have the same values when it comes to fighting for workers’ rights,” said President Roberts.
“She has always been willing and never shied away from standing up for workers’ rights, their safety, wages or whatever it might be. She has always stood in solidarity with the United Mine Workers, and I know we can count on her to stand with us for whatever fights we may face in the future.”
Sister Elaine has been a special guest and speaker at many UMWA International conventions, attended rallies in Alabama, West Virginia, Washington DC and others. She marched in 2019 and again in 2021 in the union’s reenactment of the Battle of Blair Mountain.
Congratulations, Elaine, on your Associate Member spotlight.
