District 2

District 2 represents UMWA members in the northeastern United States and eastern Canada, with local unions in New York, Pennsylvania and Nova Scotia. One of our most diverse Districts, its membership includes thousands of correctional officers, county workers and manufacturing workers as well as miners.

Fayette Labor United Election Rally

The United Mine Workers of America, Teamsters 491, Plumbers and Pipefitters, Pennsylvania State Education Association, SEIU 668, Allegheny/Fayette Central Labor Council, UFCW 1776 and Pennsylvania AFL-CIO are holding a Union Rally to support our Labor United Endorsed Candidates. Please join us for a good, old-fashioned rally for our candidates.

There will be music, food and refreshments available at no cost. We encourage all members, their families and the general public to attend. We will have many labor leaders in attendance as well as the following candidates:

Robena Mine Memorial

This marks the 56th anniversary of the Robena #3 mine disaster. Two explosions killed 37 miners when a mixture of methane gas and coal dust ignited on Dec. 6, 1962.
