Levi Allen comes from a long tradition of UMWA coal miners. Born in Franklin County, Pennsylvania, on July 6, 1981, Levi and his brother Aaron were raised in Moundsville, West Virginia by his mother, Brenda, and stepfather, John Lavenski, who he has always regarded as his father. Levi’s grandfather, Albert Marlo, was a member of the UMWA Local Union 1110, and was working in the mining industry at the time of his death.
